Summary
Constantin was expecting a great number of things when he first set foot on Teer Fradee. Excitement, freedom, adventure… maybe even a feat or two of daring, if providence saw fit to oblige. Perhaps another one of those incredible forest creatures, or at least a few of the native people he'd read so much about, with their peculiar fur garb and stone swords and painted faces. At worst, he'd feared an advance guard of the inevitable fawning courtiers, competing to lay first claim on their new liege.
A trio of silent savants in full plague regalia had most assuredly not been on his list.
Constantin's first day in his new city: politics, paperwork, and the reason it's all worth it.

Summary
Ghost knew it was going to be bad news as soon as he got called into Price's borrowed office. He just didn't know how bad the news was going to be.
"Respectfully, sir-"
Price lifted an eyebrow, probably at the complete lack of anything vaguely sounding like respect.
"-I don't need a fucking nursemaid," Ghost finished anyway, because in for a penny and all. "I can look after myself."
"With two busted wings, is that it?"
Ghost stared at a spot over Price's ear. "Just the one's busted."Stuck recuperating with Soap after a mission gone wrong, Ghost is forced to reckon with a few facts he's been ignoring.

Summary
There's a saying in the wasteland, so old MacCready doesn't even rightly remember when he first heard it. There's only two kinds of people in this world, the saying goes, the quick and the dead. And MacCready's not dead, so he must be quick: quick enough to run, quick enough to shoot, and quick enough to know a good deal when he sees it. The boss, though, the boss is something else. The kind to thrive, maybe. The kind who kicks free of all of the filth and muck and rises to the top; the kind who'll drag all of her people up with her, even if it means she has to kill every last sonofabitch in her way.
And maybe Mac didn't really know what he was getting himself into, when he let some woman with a smile and a shotgun talk him into taking a contract. But damned if he can say he ever regrets coming along for the ride.

Summary
The lookout spots the ship just after dawn: a little schooner sailing due east, flying Dutch colors and with a storm brewing in her wake. Waste of time, Izzy thinks, but Edward gets some wild fucking hair and decides to chase the fucking thing. All of Izzy's extremely valid points about the (very large) size of the storm and the (very small) size of the ship in question are roundly ignored in favor of a growled imprecation about his parentage and a backhand that knocks him halfway across the cabin, so he takes his smarting cheek and battered pride and limps up to the deck to order the pursuit.

'cause everything else is obsolete
Spring to fall: six months in the life of the Railroad's best and brightest agents, lying and spying their way across the Commonwealth, stopping the bad guys, saving the day, and having a lot of excellent sex while they're at it. For this pair of loners, partnership has never looked so good. What could possibly go wrong?
(Definitely not something as simple as feelings.)

Summary
Being a chronicle of Whisper (brand-new Railroad agent, former Minutemen General, woman out of time) and Deacon (not so new Railroad agent, professional liar, all-around charming bastard) and their adventures in lying, spying, and looking damn good doing it. Sometimes, a little dishonesty is the only way to be honest about what you want.
AKA that series where Deacon and f!SS go undercover and fuck a lot and fail at feeling feelings.

Summary
“Did you adopt a cat?” Shane asked, before he could get distracted.
“No.” Rozanov gave him a look. “I gave you a concussion this afternoon?”
“There’s a kitten outside.” Shane nudged his shoes off. “It followed me into the elevator.”
Rozanov’s eyebrows flew up, and he dashed to the door. The kitten was still there, and Rozanov scooped it up with one hand, cradling it to his chest. The kitten looked as alarmed as Shane felt.
“So you did get a cat,” he said.
“No, Hollander. This is not mine,” Rozanov said, waving the kitten at him.

"You were stabbed," Baelor said as he knelt down before Dunk, who'd managed to climb all the stairs up to their apartments without too much assistance so really, this fuss was silly. "In the leg."

Summary
Charlie has a lot on his mind when MacLeod finally returns to Seacouver.
"Charlie thought again about legitimate reasons that a stranger might have popped up like this — and about how very little he wanted to end up charged with assault — but the weight in the man's right hand inside his pocket skewed the odds."
