To this day, the Wanderer still can't quite believe how lucky he was to find someone who completes him as fully as Kazuha does. The love and adoration they feel for each other runs deep; sometimes it manifests as a raging fire, wild, untameable and all-consuming, but other times it's a gentler thing, a quietly crackling hearth that offers warmth and comfort. This morning is one of such times.

Still, despite often finding himself longing for the other man and knowing he's also won his affection, Scaramouche is reluctant to completely trust him unless he has some sort of guarantee. One quiet evening, Scaramouche's request ends up completely breaking down the walls between them, and the Harbinger realizes he may have underestimated just how deeply Kazuha cares for him.

He only caught a glimpse of it out of the corner of his eye, yet that was enough to make him pause, his heart suddenly a cage for a bird desperate to escape. A blond-haired boy bent over the table, drawing absentmindedly with a soft smile on his lips. On the spine, a small castle drawn. This was one of the few books on aesthetics in architecture sold in Sumeru and, years ago, he had given it to Kaveh as a gift.
How had his book ended up in Sage Reza's office?

Varka lightly cupped Lohen’s face in one hand. “That is the thing, Lohen. This isn’t a competition, and neither is it about hurting you.”

“Birdie, you’re goh-nuh fuck me right?” The ache of sleep in his voice makes Lohen slur his words and they fall from his tongue as a spitty mumble. “Y-you said you would if I took my stupid medicine thesh time around…so yah better take responsibility.”
Right. Illuga did promise that.

The rutting season, it’s a first Lucifer even hears of it. He knows, of course, what it means in terms of animals and nature, more specifically of the deer nature but Alastor definitely isn’t an animal, despite some very distinct deer features. Perhaps he has more of a deer in himself than he lets on, though and if so, Lucifer is dying of curiosity what it even means for him during his season.

.Except, what he comes to is no rut at all, which makes Lucifer simultaneously scream inside and lose his mind irreversibly for one pretty doe over and over again, whom he finds in the dim lights of the bayou.
He’s ready to count his blessings as long as the breeding season allows it.

The tiny deity pays his sour mood no mind. She's cooking up some sort of concoction, no doubt for him to take on what would otherwise be a quick trip if not for the numerous amounts of errands she has him running nowadays. Dottore left him quite a mess to clean up.
"Well, it wouldn't do for either one of us to fall," she says, with great seriousness.

Varka trips a little. “What was that?”
Lohen responds by sinking further into Varka’s chest, enveloped by his heartbeat and expanding-retracting lungs. “They’re, just… loud. And needy.”
Varka snorts. “I’d have thought that would give you some common ground with ‘em.”
Lohen wants to pinch him, but his arm won’t move.
“And maybe you’ve got that much in common with Mondstadt, too,” says Varka, “because we need you. So you have to survive this, alright?”
Lohen doesn’t actually want to die, he just really, really, really wants his subordinates to live. Sometimes that means standing between them and a heaving, snarling beast and letting it do its thing.

What begins as a chance encounter between an injured knight and a Lightkeeper slowly becomes something neither of them expected.

Summary
Not for the first time, Illuga thinks there must be something wrong with him. Maybe he’s been possessed by the Wild Hunt. Maybe the kuuvahki is finally getting to him; one too many mandragoras, or something like that.
Either way, there has to be a reason. Why else would Illuga keep letting Lohen into his bed? Why else would Illuga allow Lohen to use his body again and again, leaving Illuga with bruised skin, aching bones, and a weary heart?
‘Friends with benefits’ is a phrase he’s heard before, and it makes sense. The life of a Lightkeeper can be cold and lonely, so it’s only natural to seek warmth and comfort from another. But Illuga never expected to find himself in such an arrangement, if what they have can even be called that. Lohen’s rough treatment offers no benefits, and they certainly aren’t friends. Illuga doesn’t even like him.
This can’t possibly be what Flins had in mind when he suggested that Illuga take up a new hobby.

His mother gave him a heart and then she took it away and that was the first time he realised that not being empty is a privilege reserved for humans and gods and that he will never be able to become either.

Horrifyingly, the next thing that comes out of Wanderer’s mouth is, “Where have you been staying then?”
“Here and there,” Kazuha muses, looking up at the sky. The sun is coming down hard and Wanderer can see the bottom of his smile like this. “Why?” he inquires, a teasing glint to his eyes when he meets his gaze again. “Are you offering?”
“No,” Wanderer snips and turns around, successfully ending this conversation by walking away.
