He’s not sure why he’s so surprised – the Drakes are known for their work in archeology, and not much of that can be done locally. Still, he assumed that they took Timothy with them when they left the country for work. It seems a shame to leave him with a nanny this close to Christmas.
“Okay,” he says, erasing the numbers typed into his phone. “What’s your nanny’s number, then?”
“My what?” Timothy looks scandalized.
“Your babysitter? Whoever is in charge of you while your parents are gone,” he clarifies.
“I’m in charge of me when my parents are gone,” Timothy says proudly, his little chest puffing out. “I’m the Man of the House.”

Now, it's four years later and he can mostly ignore the second set of memories lying in the back of his brain. It'd be much easier if Dick Grayson would just leave him alone. If Tim believed in destiny he might actually think that the universe cared about what was lost.
Dick Grayson has spent the last year feeling like he's veered off course. Something keeps itching at the back of his brain. He's missed some clue. Helena Bertinelli's promised to help him crack down on human trafficking, but Dick thinks her foster kid might actually be more help in that department.

Tim wouldn’t go that far. He’s seen Jason around a few times since he started high school this year and he generally looks mulish and tired, not to mention a foot taller than him. The job his parents have given him tonight – becoming best friends with the second Wayne heir – seems somewhere between optimistic and impossible.
He doesn’t say any of this to his parents, however. He’s no fool.
Or: Tim and Jason meet at a gala. Tim can’t be lonely, even if he doesn’t have any friends at school, cause he’s always surrounded by people. There. Easy. Jason, on the other hand, isn’t just lonely – he’s the street rat in a sea of rich kids, and they make sure he never forgets it. Perhaps divine providence isn’t too inaccurate after all.
Alternatively, the one where Jason gets cast in the school musical, Tim's trying to figure out why Robin's getting bullied, and Jack and Janet Drake are on the hunt. Trouble's afoot...

Tim was never meant to be a permanent part of the Batfamily. He took on the role of Robin because Batman needs a Robin, but Batman has a Robin and even more people in his corner now and he doesn’t need Tim.
or Tim is used to putting his wants up on a shelf in favor of what the people around him need, but maybe it’s time for him to take them down, dust them off, and see what’s inside.

Five years stretch between Sokka and that fateful Agni Kai, each one pulling him closer to this moment—the day he finally returns to the Fire Nation. To Zuko. The ambassador position had practically fallen into his lap, and if anyone suggests he'd campaigned relentlessly for it, well... that's pure speculation. This is about diplomacy. Obviously.
But the Fire Nation that greets him isn't the one he left behind. New faces crowd the palace halls, circling around Zuko like moth-wasps to flame. One figure stands apart—Advisor Wang. She commands the court's attention with effortless grace, and more importantly, she stands where Sokka once stood: at Zuko's side.
But this is fine, right? They're just friends. It's good. It's fine.

Sokka— a civil engineer leading a regular life with his best friends— goes on a date, prompted by Toph, with her roommate, Zuko. Although he can be a bit blunt, Sokka is enamored by Zuko's cleverness and kindness. As their romance develops, Sokka begins to notice some worrying things about Zuko. Is his new maybe-boyfriend hiding something from him?
Zuko— studying writing; working on a novel— meets Sokka. At first, he's put off by his overwhelming generosity and openness, but can't help but be charmed by him. Also Zuko— a masked vigilante activist known as the Blue Spirit, who has been sabotaging the oil-money corporation Sozin Industries. Putting himself in danger to cope with a traumatic past, his reckless nighttime habits begin to raise suspicion from the new love he's found.
Or: Zuko vigilante AU. Mostly focused on his and Sokka's relationship. They learn to love and be loved in a city that's sometimes inhospitable and sometimes beautiful.

___Or: Zuko tries to find ways to deal with his fucked up life - like knitting, smoking, being an asshole in general, moonlighting as a vigilante - you know, regular stuff - he just never accounted for meeting Sokka.
