Summary
There's a legend of something called The Returning Hero's Spring. The story says a hero chosen at a specific time can be brought back to life for a second chance, but only if someone is there to wish for it.
Cloud doesn't know what any of it means or why it seems to apply to any of the strange, sudden happenings around him. And if it takes too long for him to figure it out, he may miss his once in a lifetime chance to reunite with the man he loves.

The problem arises when, among the comedy fanfics, a few romantic ones slip in, and Sebek, without realizing it, starts including in his stories many things that he genuinely finds romantic…
When Silver hears that, “authors put things they like into their stories," he takes it way too seriously and starts reading everything Sebek writes, trying to figure out how to woo him.Sebek has no idea that Silver is reading his work, let alone that he’s using his own fanfiction as a romantic guide.

If this were a different story, Zack thinks, he would be using his last moments to remember kind, green eyes and a sweet smile. He would be staring out into the raining sky, life running out of him, while making peace with the fact that he would never see his first love again. If this were a different story, Zack would not be left empty-handed, crying out as his friend stumbles away into the remnants of a battlefield. He would not be praying for that blond head to turn, aching to capture the final sight of a cherished face before locking it behind two lids.
No, this does not feel like a fitting end to this story at all―and Zack overflows with the one childish thought that this is unbearably unfair. In the rare moments that he, as any soldier must, contemplated his death, he never imagined that he would die alone.

She rushed to kneel at his side, singular focus on making sure he was okay, hardly minding what was actually in the room at first. Until Aerith caught up to them, stopping the moment she was in view to let out an utterly heartbroken gasp. Confused and concerned, Tifa looked back at Aerith, before following her gaze to the mako tank she was next to, and unconsciously giving a sharp gasp of her own.
In front of her was SOLDER First Class, Zack Fair.
