Summary
500 years after Nightmare had ate the apples, the Dream’s statue; his lifeless form, had awakened. He had forgot his purpose other than to be the “Guardian of Positivity” and his reasoning for continuing, but he did not forget what (he believes) his brother did. So, he went on an adventure to figure out why. (Or maybe to find out that he may have ended up in the wrong.)
Or:
After 500 years, Nightmare feels an intense rage and confusion come from the world in which he once lived. Filled with curiosity, he tries his best to lead the source to him.

Summary
Dreamtale sans is a Star sans.
A hero.
A helper.
It's written in his code, he was made to help people!
But, what if, his code was forcefully changed?
What if, he was now coded to be a villain?
A bad sans?
There's nothing he can do, his code is still in the hands of the mysterious person who changed it.
They have full control over him.
They can do anything they want, and he can't do anything to stop it.
Or: One of the creators steals Dream's code from Ink, and changed his position to be a Bad sans. While Ink and the Creators are searching for the strange person, Dream is forced to stay with the Bad sanses, and is having his code continuously messed with.
Tldr: Nightmare and his team are trapped in a house with a traumatized people pleaser, and both sides get therapy.

Dream breathed, “You’re not going to win this,”
“I know.” Killer stepped back as his wrist was caught, held in the air as he tightened his grip around the knife.
Dream hummed in puzzlement.
“Then why try?” He asked, craning his head to the side as Killer attempted to push himself away from Dream’s relentless grip, failing as he did so.
Unexpectedly, Killer moved forward, until their bodies were almost touching each other. He leaned his head towards Dream’s ear.
“Because it’s addicting.”
