Harkon has been vanquished, now it's time to deal with the World-Eater. But until Delphine can secure an invitation to the Thalmor Embassy, Serana and Elayn don't have any pressing engagements, so it's time for a vacation! "Anywhere you want to go-- that we can reach without going through any portals," is Elayn's offer to her beloved mate. If werewolves believed in honeymoons, she might even phrase it that way. Serana, the magickal nerd that she is, wants to spend a few weeks gathering alchemical ingredients, and not facing anything with bigger claws than a feisty mudcrab.
As might have been expected, it's not quite that simple, but as long as Elayn is following her nose, there will be something alongside the bone-crushing, spine-rending danger that seems to lurk around any corner that these two wander toward.
