Summary
The mantle of Robin has passed from one hand to the next for years.
Tim knows that very well.
Tim was Robin. Then he wasn't, and he was Red Robin. Then he was Drake for a bit. And now he's Robin again.Those transfers were far from painless, especially for Tim. Tim's kind of getting sick of always having to fight for his vigilante identity, although to be fair, none of them were strictly his to begin with, except for Drake, and people made their opinions on that name very clear.
Since people were upset when he was Robin (Jason and Damian), and people didn't like the name he came up with for himself, Jason was doubly not happy when he took up the Red Robin mantle that Jason had originally created. Tim saw this as a no-win situation.
But there was one person who had never been openly antagonistic when he had any of these identities, even when the identity was to begin with. Dick.
Dick never got mad at him for being Robin, so maybe he wouldn't mind if Tim kind of...did it again?
(TLDR Tim returns to his roots as a mantle stealer and #1 Dick Grayson fan in the most ridiculous way I could think of)
