Summary
For approximately one second, Root had a very clear view of the carpet rushing toward her face. And then she didn't, because something stopped her.
Her face ended up against something solid and warm, and when she finally got her bearings enough to lift her head, she found herself looking up at a face she'd never seen before.
A very good face, as it happened.

Root is an Actor, and when she trips on her own dress at the Golden Globes and nearly breaks her face in front of essentially every Papperazzi in LA, Sameen Shaw, a Security Guard from a private firm that was hired to work the event, catches her. Let's just say the Sapphic internet goes a little insane.

Summary
The Bellas’ House always got too warm after a show.
It was the kind of warmth that came from bodies packed into small spaces and music pushed too loud through blown-out speakers. The windows were cracked open even though it was cold outside, thin streams of night air slipping in to fight the heat. It smelled like cheap beer, sugary liquor, and the faint citrus of someone’s body spray.
Beca leaned against the kitchen counter with a plastic cup in her hand, staring down at the murky amber liquid like it might explain something to her. It was her second drink. Maybe third.
She wasn’t drunk. That was the annoying part.
the title is based on one of my favs by fiona apple, "the first taste"
She just felt…weird. The kind of restlessness that made her bounce her knee and keep scanning the room even when she wasn’t looking for anyone in particular.
Across the living room, someone was attempting to sing along with whatever song blasted through the speakers. Amy had taken over the aux cord earlier and the playlist had spiraled into chaotic territory—early 2000s pop, random rap, something aggressively electronic.
