“You’re fraternizing with the enemy,” Neji said stubbornly once he was safely on the ground and finished spitting out water.
“I’m going to karaoke with Ino,” Sakura said, her tone flatter than an ironing board. “If anything, she’s fraternizing with me.”
“The exam starts in a week!” Neji insisted and it was really a miracle he’d not stomped his foot to emphasize his bratty mood. “You could use some discretion!”
“Oh my god!” Sakura yelled. “Just say you’re jealous and want in on it!”
“I want in on it!” Neji hollered.
“Fine! Six pm, you great idiot! Don’t be late!”
“Fine! Guard!”

Summary
(Otherwise known as "Iruka and Itachi's Grand Canon-Divergent Adventure")
When acting out results in a failed graduation exam, Umino Iruka ends up retaking his final semester in the Ninja Academy. This leads to a number of mishaps, including, but not limited to: a dastardly prank war with a baby (six-year-old) genius, a surprising genin team assignment, orphanage intrigue, a lot of experimental tags and barriers, an unwanted trip to T&I, evidence of corruption in Konoha, serious injuries, threats both real and imagined, and the occasional afternoon babysitting Sasuke.
It's not easy to befriend Uchiha Itachi, but Iruka’s up to the task.

“You know, like making glitter explosives,” Iruka said. “Or little glue splatters that make people stick to things.” He forced a grin. “But don’t tell the Sarutobi Family. They think I’m studying serious stuff.”
Hiashi appeared only partially convinced. “Glitter and glue,” he repeated.
Iruka nodded. “Yeah, and-”
The door to the room flew open, allowing Tsutomu to reenter. He had an ANBU with him. An ANBU that Iruka, unfortunately, recognized.
“Aw man, he got you?” Iruka whined. “Why are you the one dragging me to T&I again?”
Hound turned slowly, his porcelain mask showing no emotion, though his body language screamed smugness. “Why are you causing trouble again?” he answered Iruka’s question with a question.

Summary
When Sakura realizes that playing little girl and flunking combat training had probably been a gross miscalculation on her part, she’s stranded in a rickety home in a run down country with an unconscious sensei. Sakura isn’t sure if she can make up for that mistake before it kills her or her team but she sure as hell will give it her best shot.
She really couldn’t have known that falling victim to Hatake Kakashi’s unique attempts at teaching would open up another can of worms entirely.

“You were upwind,” she offered. Hadn’t he noticed that? Sure, there wasn’t a lot of wind but just enough to carry a scent. And also, Kiba wasn’t exactly the quietest person she knew but there was probably no point in telling him-
“An’ you’re loud,” Uhei added flatly.
Well, there went her try at being social and nice.
Kiba gaped at Uhei for a moment - Sakura just shrugged when his gaze landed on her.

Summary
“Blessed Spirit, we thank you for the gift of this child’s life. We are forever in your debt.” The whole village is kneeling now, even the tiniest toddlers flopped down on their stomachs doing their best approximation of a bow. “Please, won’t you give us a name to call you? We would like to properly express our gratitude.”
Oh.
Well shit.
(Where Zuko saves a little Earth Kingdom girl from drowning, the villagers think he's a Spirit, build him a shrine, and long story short, a fake story about the Blue Spirit who dances with dragons suddenly becomes very real.)

The Blue Spirit doesn’t realize he’s crying until a startled gasp jolts him free of the chain of memories. He reaches up to wipe his cheeks, but instead his fingers meet cool porcelain. The tears are coming from the eye-holes of his mask, dripping down and catching in the bone-white teeth. The shrine-keeper stares at him, mouth agape, all previous deference forgotten.
The Blue Spirit leans down and quickly picks up the doll, cradling it in his palm. “I accept your offering.” He says.
