    Aegon took another step closer, his eyes glinting with malicious pleasure. “What do you think of it, Rhaenyra?” he asked, his voice dripping with false sweetness.

    Rhaenyra drew a deep breath, her mind racing. She needed to find a way to protect her son, to ensure that his life was spared. But the thought of submitting to Aegon, of becoming his wife, was unbearable.

    “I think,” she said slowly, each word measured and deliberate, “that you are a fool if you believe I would ever consent to such a vile proposition.”

    It is the one-hundred and twenty-first year of Targaryen rule, and for four years now Rhaenyra Targaryen has suffered at the hands of the Green Council. Chosen to wed her half-brother, Prince Aegon Targaryen, daughter of Queen Alicent Hightower and her own Father as punishment for her own failings.

    ‘I am truly alone in this world.’

    Though it may be a bit dramatic Rhaenyra is allowed to be, especially when the Gods hate her for merely existing.

    So what if Father made her heir? He has taken her happiness with it.

    That is until her dearest Uncle, Daemon Targaryen comes back to the capital with more baggage than before. And so Rhaenyra decides to take a chance at finding true happiness, all the while stepping on a few toes in her wake.

    However, the binds of fate are not always as they seem and true happiness is found in the strangest of places.
