Castiel Novak just wanted to get through his senior year of high school. Get accepted to some school a thousand miles away, leave town and never come back. All he had to do was lay low in his new school and he would be just fine. Should be easy enough, right? Yeah, no. And after he runs (literally runs) into Dean Winchester after a particularly rough morning, things only get more complicated.

Summary
Castiel had experienced thousands of Christmases since the birth of Christ. Most had been spent looming in heaven above, watching the holiday pass with his brothers and sisters. In his Earthly form, he barely even noticed them. The brothers certainly did nothing to recognize the occasion. But this year, while weakened and healing, confined to the bunker by doctor's (Dean's) orders, Dean decides it's time to celebrate. Castiel's first Christmas at the bunker, with some twists and turns neither one of them expected along the way.

This was a bad idea. Cas had known it from the moment he woke up at four in the morning, a good three hours before he needed to be up. He might have known longer than that. More like the second after he hastily, without thinking, replied “Yes!” to the message in his inbox asking he wanted to meet. In the minutes follow Cas suddenly remembered his crippling social anxiety and general fear of meeting new people and realized he had made a very grave mistake. He and Dean had been going out for three months, had been best friends for over six. They had never met in person and Dean thought it was about time they did. Cas agreed when he answered, but not anymore.

Ever since Darkness had set in, Cas had been insisting on returning to heaven. Sam understood his reasons for wanting to go back, to see if anything could be done, but Dean wouldn't even let him finish before changing the subject or just plain shouting at the angel. The tension between the two of them was so thick you could cut it with a knife, both so on edge anything could set them off. They argued almost everyday about pretty much everything.
