Summary
In early August of 1983, Molly Weasley is suddenly thrust into an unexpected predicament when professor Minerva McGonagall goes to her and Arthur for help with placing Harry Potter under new guardianship, after the discovery of the Dursley's much less than ideal care.
Tasked with the care of The Boy Who Lived, in addition to raising her own seven children, Molly must learn how to navigate parenting a little boy who's already had his fair share of loss and pain in his short time alive. That, and she must grapple with the fact that her and her family's growing attachment to Harry could very well lead to something more permanent than first predicted...
tl;dr: Molly Weasley fosters - and just maybe adopts - baby Harry.(I do not condone or even pretend to be ok with any of JK Rolling-in-crap's views. Both her and her views disgust me, but I'm determined to separate the art from the artist. Also, because of the adoption situation with the Weasleys and Harry, there will be nothing between Harry and Ginny, other than familial love.)

“Expect signs of PTSD,” the social worker warned him, “Extreme mood swings, risky behavior, aggression, and self-harm are all things to look out for. I would recommend counseling.”
Severus hasn’t seen any of that yet. Harry is extremely polite, neat, and personable. He likes gardening and football. He helps make grocery lists and cook dinner.
He knows there is more: clues that he’s missing and behaviors he’s overlooking, hints that Harry is struggling more that he’s letting on, but overall, Harry seems remarkably well-adjusted. It’s unnerving.
Because Severus knows that Harry spent a significant portion of his childhood confined to a single cupboard under the stairs. He knows that Harry was not fed consistently and did not have clean clothes that fit him. That he was hit.
By all accounts, Harry should be struggling. In the eight years since Severus first met Harry as an infant, his parents died, he was raised in an abusive household, and then forced to live with an estranged family friend he didn’t remember.
It worries Severus that he’s not seeing it, like Harry could be drowning right in front of him and he wouldn’t even know.

He took a shaky breath. Just looking at the vials reminded him of that shed. The smell of fish guts, burning wood and dirt. It was enough to make him throw up. But he knew once he did it, he wouldn't remember any of that. He wouldn't feel a thing but an all-encompassing sensation like he was wrapped in a warm, heavy blanket. He needed that feeling. He imagined that was how well-adjusted children felt, when their mentally stable parents tucked them tightly into bed.
He just didn't want to be afraid anymore.
