Summary
Emma Swan has had a rough life in foster care. After running away one night she meets Regina Mills and unknowingly makes a deal for better luck in exchange for her first born child. When she realizes that magic is real and the deal is binding she agrees to be a surrogate for her. As the two spend more time together feelings grow and things become complicated.

After a night of fake dating in "I Know A Bank Where the Wild Thyme Blows", which turned into a one-night stand, which turned into realising there are feelings, which ended with Tim asking Lucy out on a real date... this is the following day from Tim's POV: coming to terms that he's had feelings for Lucy for a while, planning and then taking her on that date, so basically entering their secret dating era—while still training his new rookie.
(And I know this is a crappy summary.)Reading "Thyme" is recommended as there are some call-backs, but I think you can follow the plot even if you don't.

Buck doesn't have to ask Eddie whether his feelings are returned. Oh, Maddie's been encouraging him to, ever since she got him to confess that he has fallen in love with his best friend, insisting that he'll never know until he tries. Buck doesn't have to, though. Because he knows Eddie. He can read his friend like no one else can and in a manner that's unlike anything Buck has ever shared with anyone else. He can understand him so well, it's almost like he was destined to.
Which is the bitter irony of it, because that's exactly how he knows that Eddie isn't and won't ever be in love with him.

Summary
It’s when Emma finds her girlfriend’s lifeless body in bed she eventually breaks. It’s the final straw for how much she can take and she ends up being admitted to a psychiatric ward. During that time she turns 18 and should therefore be free from the foster system. However, due to her catatonic state, the court orders for her to stay in state care until she graduates High School.
After being cleared by doctors months later, she moves to a couple in a town called Storybrooke, where she has to try to get back on her feet and finish her senior year. For the court order to be terminated Emma has to prove that she is mentally stable and have the ability to become, and stay, self-sufficient.
Her plan is to graduate and get the hell out of there but plans seem to slowly change when she finds herself embraced by the people around her in a way she never has been before. When she finds herself connecting with her English Lit. teacher in ways she never could have imagined. A connection in which she could find something she’s always searched for.
