But he needed air. He needed physical space. He needed to breathe without that sweet, spicy fog clouding his judgment. Never before had a stranger's scent –an Omega's pheromones– affected his system so violently without him even knowing who the hell they belonged to. And the absolute worst part ? He seemed to be the only Alpha noticing it. Everyone else looked perfectly, frustratingly normal. The mechanics were casually cracking jokes. The engineers were calmly typing. Oscar was sipping his recovery shake.

Lando should have known that loving Carlos would bring him such cruel fate. But he didn’t regret for a second loving him. The love he had for him had been so incrusted in his insides it had become a part of his identity. Loving him had not been a decision; it had been sedimentary. Layer upon layer until it formed bone. To extract it now would mean dismantling himself.
And Carlos loved him back. Tragically not enough to keep him alive.

Lando lifted the little Hello Kitty camera he had apparently been carrying around all day, giving Carlos a small, pleased smile. “Look at this. I have been walking around with this the whole day.”
Then he tried to take a picture of Carlos.
Carlos reached out and covered his face with one hand, blocking the lens in a lazy, playful motion.
“Do not take my photo,” he said, and the smug curve of his mouth only widened when he looked back at Lando through his fingers. “...Pervert.”
Lando stopped.
He lowered the camera slowly.
And then, because Lando Norris had never met a mild insult he could not turn into a challenge, he interpreted the word like a direct invitation.
Or: Lando is absolutely not coping with the fact that Carlos even considered rejecting him, and decides to give him a very hands-on, extremely affectionate lesson about it.
