This woman was looking at her with the overly sweet smile, trying to catch a possibility to touch her. While she was giggling at her own (probably, cheesy and absolutely not funny) joke, she gently stroked Carina's shoulder. I bet Carina didn't want to show that she felt uncomfortable from the "simple" touch, but it was pretty visible from the side where I stood.
Neither that stranger nor Carina didn't see me at that moment while I couldn't help but think that if the looks could kill, I would definitely love to get this woman away from Carina. Far, far away.
OR
The fic takes place in season 3. It's been a few weeks since Carina and Maya hooked up the second time and, though Maya kept thinking about pushing her away and making this stop, she could only feel herself getting more attracted. And seeing another woman trying to hit on Carina, Maya felt something she couldn't quite explain.
