Summary
No choice is made without consequence. For those that decide to challenge gods, the decisions made to achieve the greatest rewards will come with the heaviest of prices. Through unfortunate events, at stopping the ending of the world, Taevin de Riva is faced with more choices than he had ever expected to make as an Antivan Crow. To be sent away on an impossible mission to stop a god and releasing two other gods, there is no easy answer on how to fix that mistake. Not to mention, as the world begins to burn and be destroyed, cities begin to fall, close companions and friends demand aid, sacrifices must be made. And at the heart of it all, Taevin must face the regrets of his own choices, of the choices made on behalf of his friends, his love, and city. Is the weight of the world too much to handle with one carrying the regrets of a millennia?
This is the story Rook, Taevin de Riva, his choices and the people he meets. Taevin is forced to take on the challenges of stopping two Blighted gods while preparing a team of people he has grown so close to. On top of everything else, Taevin struggles to handle his own relationship with a specific Crow of another House, one so infamously known as the "Demon of Vyrantium."

Summary
A mostly canon-compliant retelling of RookCanis. There's a couple bits here and there that I might change because I disagree with direction the story took. Updates might add earlier chapters, but I'm currently writing scenes that take place while Rook is stuck in the Fade Prison after Tearstone Island. Sporadic edits might occur as I re-read the older parts and fix spelling, grammar, change phrasing for better flow, etc.

Currently on hold while I finish my other DAV fic, with plans to rework this and repost it when finished! It's gonna be awhile, sorry. Go check out My Corvus Mating Ritual series instead!
The title is subject to change, because I am horrible at titles and made it up on the fly.
Rook wasn't necessarily NOT used to being in charge, but he didn't plan on being bequeathed to lead a band of rag tag odd balls against Ancient gods hellbent on blighting the world. Then again, he didn't plan on immediately seeing Lucanis Dellamorte and falling in love from the second he crashed out of his prison and stabbed his captors either. Rook was nothing if not good at adapting. Now if only the OTHER ancient god would stay out of his head, that would be nice.
(I plan to have this span the whole game, and will be adding tags as they pop up. I put some main ones down that I know will eventually be included, but they could change. Keep that in mind. and yes, you read those tags right, the previous games companions and protags will be featured in this, because we ALL know Hawke would be right up in Varric's business. That is HIS dwarf, thank you very much.)

Summary
After Rook’s sacrifice to stabilize the Veil, the Veilguard is left grieving amid the ruins of Minrathous. Their allies begin rebuilding, while each member sets off on their own path: Neve leads Minrathous out of ruin, Bellara studies ancient elven artifacts, Taash stabilizes trade routes, and Davrin returns to the Grey Wardens to fight the Blight. Lucanis and Spite retreat to the Lighthouse, where they discover a hidden glyph left by Rook. His voice warns that the Veil is still fragile, and a map points to an unknown source of instability. Lucanis vows to follow Rook’s path and reunite the Veilguard. Realizing they must evolve, Lucanis abandons the name "Veilguard" in favor of "The Crimson Dawn," symbolizing rebirth and the fight ahead.
