On the newspaper are dozens of drawings of… Davey? They’re a little hard to make out against the text, but once he looks close enough, he sees the effort put into each of them is clear as day. Crutchie can’t help but be in awe of how Jack had captured Davey’s likeness so beautifully. The sheer number of them though is… interesting.

Summary
This kid knew nothing about working in the city, he was going to get eaten in that stupid buttoned up shirt and tie of his. But besides his stuck-up nature Jack couldn’t help but be intrigued by the poor kid, he felt like he wanted to help him (he maybe also felt some things that would certainly end him up in jail. Not that he would ever admit he felt that way about another boy), but he also felt a connection to the kid and wanted to know more about him.
