Summary
Angsty, complicated, tortured, sarcastic.
A choppy re-telling of MacCready and (my) SS's adventures through the Commonwealth because I haven't been able to get these two out of my head for a decade.
My SS, Nik, comes from a tumultuous past, exacerbated by the social and political state of the world pre-Great War. This same past allowed her to garner skills and knowledge relevant to surviving the Wasteland, through various means.
In short, my SS is not helpless, sometimes to a fault.
This work will follow the original storyline, expanding on elements I find interesting (the Minutemen, Valentine, the Railroad) and ignoring the ones I don’t (Brotherhood of Steel).
My focus tends to be on conversations and developing the relationship between MacCready and SS, with heavy focuses on grief, guilt, post-traumatic stress and depression, learning to trust and love after tragedy, and bonding unconventionally throughout.
I'll place relative warnings at the beginning of chapters when needed.

Summary

If she expected taking out Jared’s gang at Lexington would make the road to the city easier, boy was she wrong. And raider gangs aren’t the only dirty players in the Commonwealth.
More annoying still, she’s still plagued by the dead Pregnant Lady and the crude ghoul in the tricorn hat who seems very much alive—so to speak. Either that, or a figment of her deeply disturbed mind. But those aren’t even the most surprising allies she’ll find along the way.
