Inspired by Frankenstein
Transitioning from a strict routine to lots of free time and not much to do was jarring. But luckily, the old hut he had bought, and the land attached to it, kept him pretty busy. The roof was a leaky mess and the small porch was almost rotten through, and so he spent a full summer just fixing up his little hut. The hardwood he had to buy to repair the porch cost a pretty penny, and he wasted about four planks by cutting them too short or placing the nails incorrectly, but he had the patience to learn and improve. It felt good to do some hard work that didn't cost the lives of other people for once.

After all, keeping the stuff for a little while longer couldn't hurt anyone. It was just random junk anyways. But there was no need to keep storing it under his bed like some dragon hoarding an old, now worthless treasure.

so II is kinda stuck in a bad relationship with an ex, but he gets saved by his new friends just in time before it gets too bad. Anyways, the beginning is kinda angsty, but the end is pretty nice
____Thing was, II never thought he would actually end up liking the daily bus drives from his flat to the university where he gave drum lessons. In fact, he had been saving up for years to buy the motorbike of his dreams. But now that seemed unimportant, because there was this lanky, unshaved man sitting next to him and gesturing wildly while talking about something. He hadn't even meant to take the bus today, he realized a little to late as the bus pulled up to his usual stop. There just had been a text message on his phone this morning from someone he hated, but just couldn't deny. And now, after a hasty goodbye to his bus-friend, he left the bus and headed to the apartment building he should have long stopped going there.
