Summary
Eddie's head snapped up. One of the SWAT officers was pointing at a portable monitor set up near the command vehicle—a live feed from the news broadcast still streaming from inside the school. The camera was shaky, the angle awkward, but it showed a hallway.
And there—*there*—was Buck.
Eddie's breath caught in his throat. Buck was in the middle of the corridor, and he was fighting. Not running, not hiding—*fighting*. Hand-to-hand combat with one of the shooters, brutal and desperate. Buck's face was streaked with blood, his shirt torn, but he was moving with the fierce determination of someone protecting something precious.
The camera zoomed in slightly, and Eddie could see it now—the way Buck had positioned himself. The storage closet door visible behind him. The way every move Buck made was calculated to keep the shooter away from that door, to use his body as a barrier.
"The boys," Eddie said, his voice hollow with realisation. "They're in that closet. That's where he hid them. He's—" Eddie's voice broke. "He's protecting them."
Or Buck is taking the boys to Christopher’s science Fayre when a school shooting starts. We see how Buck fights to keep his boys safe and how Eddie rushes to save themBookmarked by Scarlet_Boy

Summary
In hind sight, Buck really should have agreed with Bobby and told people that he had more issues after the bombing than just his leg. Bobby had seen the medical records, but when he’d looked ready to hold Buck back for a second time, to keep him as the man behind, Buck told him he’d lose his job for refusing work based on his new disability. It would be worse discrimination than just holding him back because of hurt feelings.
The point was, he should have told someone he was disabled. That he required hearing aids to be able to hear.

Summary
Buck is a good dog—a loyal dog, chained by only his own loyalty that feels heavy like iron around his neck as he waits. A good dog waits, and if Buck can’t be a good teammate for his family, he can be a good dog for them.
Even though he wants to stay, Buck is a good dog—he follows commands, sits when he’s told, gets off the couch when prompted, and doesn’t even steal food. He’s a good dog, and good dogs return to their imaginary owner at the end of the day when they decide it’s his time to go. He’s a good dog as he walks through the streets of L.A., dodging strangers, weaving through back alleys, and crossing the streets when the light tells him he can.
Buck is a good dog; he’s not a good human, though—dog him is selfless, happy to bask in people’s presence. Human him is selfish, needy, and graceless; unlovable, barely tolerated, and too much.

"Stiles was... happy. Really happy. Happy in a way that had the forest singing to him, urging him to go and play and frolic and let his fox have some fun for once."

Summary
Derek Hale is the most talented Jaeger pilot the Pan-Pacific Defense Corps has ever produced — and the most difficult to partner. After his first co-pilot used their neural link to manipulate and betray him, Derek has burned through every partner the PPDC has thrown at him, his walls too high for anyone to breach in the Drift. One last chance. One last partner. Enter Stiles Stilinski, fresh out of the Jaeger Academy with the highest aptitude scores in a decade and a mouth that won't quit. He's smart, he's relentless, and he fits into the broken spaces of Derek's mind like he was made for them. But the Breach is widening, the Kaiju are evolving, and the clock is ticking toward an extinction-level event. If Derek can't learn to trust again — to let Stiles all the way in — they won't just lose the war. They'll lose each other.
