Everything changed for Hatake Kakashi on the day of her official investiture as Rokudaime Hokage, and probably not for the reason you would think. You see, in that moment, she’d come to two, life-altering realizations.
The first, was that somewhere between making Genin, the Chuunin exams, travelling with Jiraiya, fighting and winning an entire war and essentially kicking the ass of a literal God, Naruto had somehow ceased to be that obnoxious, enthusiastic brat she’d been so fond of, and he’d grown up.
Secondly, and far worse, Kakashi realized that Naruto was, in fact, a very attractive man. Also, she was actually embarrassingly in love with him.

That’s not true; Shanks most certainly did not, but still, he’s thrashing like crazy. Like Shanks is apologizing for ditching him. As if.

He’s apologizing for staying.
-----Shanks visits Foosha Village a few days after Luffy's 17th birthday to get an update on him without breaking their promise. When he finds out Luffy's departure has been delayed because of an unclear illness, his pure intentions to check on him result in less than pure actions when he finds Luffy confused and in heat.
