Summary

To make matters worse, there's a counterfeit drug out there ravaging the populace, and CEO Jaheira intends to track down the cartel behind it. And what better way to do that than working with that cartel's rival? Gale believes he is equal to the task.
When Tav walks in as his assigned contact for the mission, his heart nearly stops. Especially when he realizes she is not happy to see him.

The parchment is expensive. Tav runs her fingertips over the wax seal and hesitates; she knows what this is. She is not surprised that it is happening, she is, however, surprised at being included in some way. Perhaps, she allows herself, she had hoped it wouldn't be so soon. (She has already put to bed the part of herself that had hoped it would not happen at all.) Gale had, after all, been very clear - and devastatingly gentle - in his explanation.
