Shadamy Week Day 2: Different Era/Fake Dating
tl;dr: to escape a suitor, Lady Nimue asks Sir Lancelot to convince Camelot, for one night, that she has chosen him.
Lady Nimue has endured enough unwanted attention for one feast, and when another suitor approaches with disaster in his eyes, she turns to the only knight in the hall no one would dare challenge. Sir Lancelot is cold, severe, and feared by most of the court, but he has stood beside her too many times for his distance to mean what Camelot believes it does.
All Nimue needs is for him to make the court believe she has chosen him.
But when her rose-colored favor is tied to Arondight, when a dance becomes something far more dangerous than pretense, and when Sir Lancelot makes it clear he has no intention of treating the lie as temporary, Nimue begins to wonder whether Camelot’s newest tale was ever truly false at all.
