Summary
A soft rustle, and Sam can feel Bucky lift his head next to him. “Aren’t you supposed to keep your wish to yourself? It doesn’t come true if you say it out loud.”
Sam huffs. “That’s not a thing.”
“Of course it’s a thing. Now you’ve jinxed it. We’ll only get zombie armies now, controlled by evil wizards. And when you give the kids one of your pep talks, you’ll have to tell’em it’s your fault.”
“No.”
“Yes.”
“No.”

Summary
“I have been in love with you since the first time we met—no, that can’t be right.” Bucky stops himself, letting out a curse.
That’s a total lie. The first time they met, he was brainwashed and hellbent on killing Sam. So was the second, and the third, and the fourth. He absolutely cannot start a love confession this way.
He wraps a hand around Sam’s, careful of the IV drips and the wires. The hospital room is too quiet when he’s not filling it with his voice, only the steady beeping of the machines counting each second of Sam not waking up.

Obi-Wan frowns, seeing that Anakin is not even lifting his eyes, being engrossed with his repair work, and yet still seeking affection so casually.
By principle, it’s affection Obi-Wan should deny.

Summary
The cat stares at Obi-Wan, blinking slowly with curious eyes.
“Well. Hello, there.”
Obi-Wan greets the creature at his door, staring back. The cat has sleek, black fur all over, except for the white streak on the side of his face. He is much smaller than a Loth-cat, with much shorter fur too. Possibly a less common sub-species of the tooka. He has blue eyes instead of yellow like most black cats, and oh—he’s missing a front leg.
A pang of sympathy swells in Obi-Wan’s chest. The poor thing. Where has he come from? Who is his owner? Did he wander all the way from the lower levels of Coruscant and into the Temple? Did he get injured because he’s a stray?
The cat sits on his tail, looking straight up as Obi-Wan crouches down before him.
“Hello, dear,” he greets the small creature again, this time in a much gentler tone. “Now, how have you wandered to my door?”

'To anyone else, Bucky’s reaction seems insane. But to be fair, most things Bucky does seem insane to other normal people. Except Sam. He’s the only one who never finds what Bucky does to be weird.
So, it’s not exactly his fault that seeing Sam, his best friend, frozen in time and stuck in a box covered in icicles, sends him into a rampage.'

“C’mon, so you’re tellin’ me you haven’t kissed anyone since nineteen forty-three?"
Bucky does not act on ruining that 84-year streak right then and there because Sam’s eyes are enormous, practically sparkling with unhinged curiosity that he looks scary similar to the kid whenever something flags down his hyperactive brain.
“Yup,” he says, totally level-headed. The most level-headed he’s ever been.
“Think you’re outta practice?”
“Nope.” Bucky’s a natural at this. Level-headed is his middle name. "It's just like riding a bike, Sammy. Once you remember, it's pretty hard to forget."
Then suddenly it's, “Do you want to?” and Bucky feels like all his level-headedness was grabbed by the balls and ripped right out of him.
Or: Bucky wants and craves and loves Sam so much that it makes him a little dumb. And a whole lot more eager to kiss him.
