Summary
“Joker,” he sneers, shoving him up against a wall. “Mind explaining?” He knows he shouldn’t care about what Ren does in his free time, but Akechi finds himself simmering with rage at the thought of Ren whittling away hours down in Mementos, letting himself get beaten to a pulp by those disgusting creatures.
If he needs a satisfying fight, Akechi is right fucking there.
“I wasn’t— I was just blowing off steam,” Ren stammers guiltily.
His reponse is gasoline to the runaway forest fire of Akechi’s blistering fury.
Akechi drops him, backing up a few steps. “Oh yeah? Like this?,” he asks, slamming a steel toed boot into his ribs.
Ren gasps, crumpling like a house of cards. He curls up into the fetal position on the floor, raw instinct taking over. So much for the invincible leader of the Phantom Thieves. Right now, he’s nothing more than a pathetic child whimpering in pain.
For the first time in weeks, Akechi feels like he has a semblance of control over his circumstances.
