Summary
Vaggie endures a nightmare of how things could have gone wrong if she had come clean about her past. Though she escapes from it, Charlie isn't about to let her distressed girlfriend stay that way, and that leads to a difficult but important admission by Vaggie.
(Oh, and it would have been annoying to fully tag out: self-harm here refers literally to a "pinch to wake up" situation that draws some blood, nothing more serious or pathological than that.)

Lena, on the other hand, has some issues of her own to settle but she's gonna need all three Sabrewings to pull that off.

She cleared her throat and answered, “Adam and Lute showed up right after you left.”
Charlie flopped backwards on the bed and groaned, “Ugghh! Nooooo, not them! They’re the worst.” Her arms flailed in the air once in frustration and resignation before she huffed and let them fall on her stomach. Staring at the ceiling now, she grumbled, “Alright, let's have it. What did they want from me? To drop the hearing?”
She felt a fond smile try to crawl up her face because the animated exasperation was just so…Charlie, but she bit it back. “No, they…they wanted to talk to me,” she corrected. The princess immediately propped herself up on both elbows in alarm, opening her mouth to speak. Vaggie cut her question off, already knowing what it would be, and spat, “Adam is trying to blackmail me.”

“Sure.” Adam rolls his eyes, then calls behind him, “Lute, stop playing with your food.”
Before Charlie can react, Lute stabs her blade through Vaggie’s chest, gold blood spilling around angelic steel. Vaggie tries pushing herself up, but Lute pushes her back to the ground with her foot as Vaggie coughs up more gold blood.
“No!” The scream stops the battle in its tracks.

And then, everything is black.The blackness doesn’t last long, though. In moments, Vaggie blips back into sunlight and warmth.
She’s in Heaven with Sera, Emily, and surprisingly, Sir Pentious, and Emily is smiling from ear to ear.
(Or: What if Vaggie died during the Extermination and Heaven redeemed or, but Charlie didn't know?)

Summary
It was easy to smile. Alastor proved that every day, with a grin that never fell. A grin that betrayed his true emotions with subtle twitches that were unnoticed to anyone who wasn’t looking close enough to spot it.
It was harder to smile convincingly, to cover up every undesirable emotion with an easy smile and hopeless optimism. And Charlie knew that better than anyone else. Everyone looks closely when a smile is suspicious. No one questions it when a smile looks genuine.
