During one of his night hunts he accidentally crosses paths with Shen Jiu, who later becomes a disciple of the same sect, earning the nickname 'Beast' for his 'wonderful' personality. Yuan, however, approaching interactions with people as if they were monster taming, perceives him as a beaten, wet, sad cat (a bit saber-toothed and venomous, but...) and treats him like a wounded animal, completely unaware that he's encountering the future main villain.
