Set right after Robert’s Rebellion. Jaime never expected to be released from his Kingsguard vows, but when his father died during the burning of the Lannister Fleet, Jaime found himself Lord of Casterly Rock. Following his new King’s orders, Jaime takes a trip to the North before finally getting to head home. There he meets someone he never expected, a little boy. A bastard, who appeared to be all alone in the world. Jaime didn’t know what possessed him, but he found himself ready to go to war with the North if it meant saving this unloved child. He takes the boy back to Casterly Rock with him only to discover that this boy is no mere bastard, but the secret trueborn son of the one man Jaime has respected his whole life, Prince Rhaegar Targaryen. Jaime had already fallen in love with the sweet boy as if he was his own son. Now more than ever he was going to see that the boy’s destiny was fulfilled. That he avenged his family and took back what was rightfully his. Prince Jaehaerys Targaryen would be crowned the King of the Seven Kingdoms and that was an oath that Jaime Lannister was never going to break.

Summary
Jon's hardship in navigating political waters on Dragonstone is contrasted only by Tormund's hardship governing Eastwatch-by-the-Sea. The reunion, however, is only that much sweeter for it.
_Only a moment passes before Tormund barrels into him. He would have been knocked off his feet had Jon not opened his arms in anticipation of this, and gripped him tightly. Jon laughs, letting himself bury his face in Tormund’s furs. It’s been too long.
Tormund’s hand is on the back of his neck, in his hair, and for a space between breaths, Jon imagines they’re alone. He wishes to do nothing than cup his face and kiss him.

And — no, I just — I feel like shit because I hate that I don’t dress like I want or do what I want because of people like them, I hate that I can’t look at myself without hating what I see when I never cared until other people pointed it out, I hate that my father has to look at me and be sad when he has just me and I never want to give him reasons to be sad because of me, I hate that I know there are a few things I’m good at and I have to hear people laughing at me for wanting to pursue them even if I’ll do that anyway and — I feel like throwing up.”
“Do you have to?”
“No, I think,” she says, helping herself to some more water, and she’s horrified to realize that she actually started crying, and she nods thankfully when Stannis hands her a packet of paper tissues.
She blows her nose, shaking her head. “There’s nothing healthy about that, is it.”
