Summary
A (mostly) canon-compliant continuation of the series. It felt so unfinished (literally because it was) to the point where I have started writing fics. Anyways, the fic is a grittier, more realistic take on the story/ characters, begining from the end of episode 20 and beyond. I really wanted to explore Julie and Mike's relationship, and the reveal of her true connection to Kane.

Jotaro hates sand but he’ll gladly get it in his teeth, feel it on his tongue to taste the briny sea water of Kakyoin’s proof of life.

“Jack, I swear,” Ennis whispered, voice thick.
“I know,” Jack murmured back. “I know, Ennis.”

Summary
There was a long silence before Kakyoin finally said it, the problem that had been worrying at him for days, if not weeks now. It was always at the corner of his mind, a creeping sense of mortality as he watched their enemies drop one by one. In these situations, he’d supposed that he was to feel grateful. His life had won against theirs. It was a simple contest and Kakyoin was succeeding in nearly every angle. A breath escaped him, one he hadn’t meant to take so deeply and so heartfelt, and he spoke, “I don’t think I was meant to make it back alive.”
