Summary
Standing at the edge of the reef feels like standing at the edge of the world.
On one side, there is light. Vibrant colors caressed by sunkissed rays of dusty teal, soft coral oscillating in the current while schools of fish playfully dance a ballet of golden dreams and silver bubbles. A weightless ballet choreographed to silence, only ever disturbed by the whispering tide or by the obnoxious engine of a boat far, far away overhead.
On the other side, there is the blue. Expanses of ultramarine. Empty. Cold. Blue. It’s impossible to see how deep it goes. The deeper you go, the more blue. And eventually, the more pitch black. It is a realm that even the light dares not enter. No color, no music, no rhythm. Only dark, only blue, only cold.
