But your back arches up right away, and any relaxation is also thrown away. Hands dig into your thighs, holding them up to open you up further.

“I’m not letting you die,” you simply said, turning your face away from him to look at a corner of his tent, to try to hide your emotions as you said it, to not see his face as you said it.
You heard him get up from the bed, step closer to you, but not too much. It felt as if there was an ocean between you, so much distance and misunderstandings.
Gale sighed, “And I thank you for wanting to do that but, I…I was on borrowed time anyway. At least, my end will be for good. It makes me feel…relieved, somehow.”
“Relieved?” You barked out, eyes now turning to him in a glare. You took a step forward, urgent. “How does knowing you’re about to sacrifice yourself relieve you?”
Your voice broke on the words, and you wanted to swallow the break back. You wanted to look angry and strong, not emotional and a broken thing because your stupid heart couldn’t help but fall for the man in front of you.
