Nico laughs good-naturedly, the way he always does when he’s pleased with Gabi for bending the rules a little bit. Gabi takes it in, Nico’s cute giggle, the crows feet crinkling the skin around his eyes, and takes a moment to bask in his crush.

While Roger was unconscious, Rafa never once held his hand. The longer he kept himself at a distance, the more stricken Mirka’s glances in his direction had become, but Rafa had held firm.
When the doctors said memory loss is common with head injuries this severe, it was as if Rafa already knew what would happen next.
Rafa never held Roger’s hand, so when Roger woke up and couldn’t remember his name, Rafa didn’t have to let him go.

Summary
After all they've been through, it's strange that something so important could be so simple, but for Miles and Phoenix, falling in love, at least, doesn't have to be the end of the world.
Some stress relief fluff that I wrote purely to cheer myself up - there is literally negative plot but there is a lot of lawyers falling into the bright and bitter kind of love that can only come from a lifetime of belligerent teamwork.
(The anxiety tag just refers to Edgeworth's reaction to earthquakes and mentions of a psychologist, btw)
