Summary
There's been a blizzard blowing for the last two days in Wyoming, and even once it stops Charles and Arthur know the county isn't gonna have them dug out for a week at best. So, retired from crime, with little to do (the internet is out) and a glut of free time when no one's expecting to call or see them, the boys act on a long-fantasized week-long scene.
"The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife."

If Arthur could go back in time and tell his young orphaned self that he was going to be living in New York as a prominent artist in his mid-30s, well, he would’ve called it a miracle that he even got to live that long. His life had changed gravely since getting adopted at 14 by his parents in ways he never thought imaginable. From fighting his way to get fed at foster homes to living in a quaint town like Strawberry, it was night and day. There, his family nurtured his skills and that’s when Arthur honed in on his artistic talents. Although he was proud of his accomplishments, he couldn’t say for sure his fathers were. That was always a sore spot for him.

After a recent health scare from his father, Arthur returns to his hometown of Strawberry to become his caretaker. Upon arriving, he finds himself in an unexpected position with his best friend Charles and ex-fiancée Mary.

Summary
The last shot is accompanied by the trail of a cry, shrill, angry, fearful. Arthur lowers his revolver. Blinks. Tongues at a bloody tooth from getting hit while strangling an O’Driscoll, spits red mucus onto one of the bodies on the floor.
The crying starts up again, as if sensing Arthur’s confusion. For a moment, Arthur thinks it must be some poor lady these savages have taken alongside the house, but quickly knows it to be untrue. It’s too—wet, pointless in a way only the young can manage, knowing that something is wrong but not knowing what. Just a shout, not the bellowing anguish of someone who knows what god-awful situation they have been put in.
“Christ,” he says, once, twice. “Christ.”

Arthur accidentally adopts a baby, and, despite his best judgement, ends up starting to raise him. He falls in love with Charles along the way.

"I deserve it, don't I? After all them things I did, all the sins... I reckon I'm owed some of it back, ain't I?" he asked in a whisper so fragile even the cicadas would drown it out if any of them sang that night.
Charles' stormy expression melted into something softer, something sadder. He knelt in front of Arthur, Smith's big hands clasping over Morgan's.
"No one deserves it, Arthur. No one has the right to hurt you." He said, quiet but confident. His brown eyes shone with unshed tears and Arthur felt a pang of shame knowing he was the cause of them. "I wish you'd see that you're worth kindness, Arthur. That you deserve good things."
Arthur felt a pang behind his heart.
"I haven't got the slightest idea what you see in me, Charles. I'm a no good criminal, I'm beyond savin'," he sighed, glancing down. Charles raised his head by the chin, staring into his eyes with pure determination. It was intoxicating.
"No, you're not. I will repeat it to you everyday if I have to, Arthur Morgan. I can promise you that." Arthur felt Charles' breath on his skin, they were so close. "You're a good man."
