Summary
Ivan was born with hell in his eyes.
Or, at least, that’s what the Segyein would say. A deep maroon, the color of the very blood in his veins, staining his eyes. Unsha said he was proof that humans were made of hell. Sin and fire engulfed in his pupils. Funnily enough, it was one of the things the Segyein enjoyed about him. They thought his eyes were beautiful and as proof that they were right to treat him as a pet. It was easier for them, he supposes, to think of humans as monsters instead of themselves as one.
Unfeeling. Detached. Well, Ivan supposes that they aren’t completely wrong. He wouldn’t be surprised if he was made from hell. It sure feels like he’s burning every single time he sees Till.

Ivan was supposed to be normal.
Scents, cycles, secondary genders; Ivan was meant to have that too, but years past puberty granted him nothing. According to the doctors, Ivan suffered from a gland disorder. Unable to produce a scent or identify them left him to navigate a society that depended on something Ivan lacked. Without any clear indication of his dynamic, Ivan worried he would fail to meet anyone’s expectations.
