The Wood is at peace again and ready to sleep for the winter. As the cold draws in, Nieshka knows she must leave the Wood to hibernate, and hurries to cleanse as much of the residual corruption as she can. But with Sarkan back in the valley and in complete denial about their relationship, her narrow bed in the Tower offers little respite from the cold.
Still, after settling into a new dysfunctional normality, Agnieszka and Sarkan soon find their world uprooted again by a beacon fire from Dvernik. When magic awakens in Nieshka's nephew, the pair must find a way to break the barriers between them and teach a four-year-old boy how to control his power - and everything else a four-year-old boy needs teaching.

They’ve just sunk a Dutch merchant vessel for a bit of Friday fun, and Frenchie’s overseeing the division of treasure on-deck when he notices Izzy’s looking a bit worse for wear - paler than usual, and with a hand pressed against his lower back like it’s bothering him something awful.
Jim gets there first; Frenchie watches them approach, mutter something that sounds like ‘¿Estás bien?’ — and after a beat, Izzy nods, looking at them like he’d only just realised they were there. Moreover, it looks like the moment’s passed. He shakes back into himself, lowers the hand, and sets to helping Jim lift some of the heavier spoils off the dinghy.
Not done his back in, then, Frenchie thinks. Weird.

Yasha Nydoorin is walking through the streets of Blumenthal, enjoying the stormy night air, when she smells burning and hears screams. Rushing to the scene, she find a burning house and three people clearly trying to hurt a fourth in some way. Reacting on instinct, she fights and defeats the three wizards and takes the boy they were hurting home to the circus with her. What is she going to do with this catatonic, traumatized person? Keep him around and be his friend, obviously.
This is really just an exploration of what would have happened if Yasha had rescued Caleb before he could end up in the asylum, because Yasha and Caleb are the ultimate BroTP and I really don't write enough Yasha content. All apologies to Ashley Johnson for probably mangling her portrayal of her own dnd character.

Summary
The first thing he felt was dirt. Cool, wet, heavy dirt pressing into his face, filling his lungs, his eyes, his nose. He choked on it, tried to breathe it in, but there was nothing but soil to breathe. He clawed at the dirt, trying to find something that was not soil, searching desperately for something that did not choke him. It took him so long, ages of crawling and gasping, before his fingers broke the surface. He clambered up, clutching at the soft earth. The air felt sweet in his lungs, and he fell onto the grass, retching and choking on the remaining dirt in his chest.
Mollymauk Tealeaf has come back from the dead, but without his memories or words. Caleb Widogast has been separated from the rest of the Nein, and is in the wild, injured and alone. When they meet by the side of the Glory Run Road, they set off towards Zadash, hoping that they can find their friends and get Molly's memories back before the wilds claim them.
