The walls began to close in on Taeui. His vision started to blur as the tears he had been biting back welled up in his eyes. Kyle’s voice distorted as a harrowing realization slowly sunk in. He didn’t want to believe it, he so desperately wished he was wrong, but somewhere deep inside, he knew. Taeui knew exactly what terrible words would fall out of those lips next.
“Taeui,” Kyle said, his smile turning into an apologetic one. “When you get older, you will marry Ilay.”

“They’re called nesting heats,” Megumi said, nudging Gojo’s arm off of his shoulder. “They usually just spend them with their family. Build a nest, scent each other, it’s supposed to strengthen pack bonds.”
“As they grow and mature,” Shoko continued. “Most omegas move away from spending heats with their families, and it becomes more sexual in nature. They usually get about four years of irregular, mild heats that give their bodies time to adjust to their cycles.” Shoko sighed. “But Itadori was a normal human until a few months ago.”
“He didn’t get time to adjust,” Nanami finished.
Shoko nodded.
“So he’s jumping into a full heat for the first time.” Nanami looked at the other men at the table with him. “I don’t like where this is going.”
“If he goes through his heat alone, it’ll probably kill him,” Shoko said. “No use in beating around the bush. He needs an alpha to knot him. You guys are the only ones that he knows well enough to accept.”
