Jake Lockley typically doesn't resolve situations with words. He's here because the Winter Soldier is here, and it's Jake's job to protect the body by taking the pain and committing the violence the other's aren't able to handle. But. That's also the Winter Soldier's job, isn't it? To protect Bucky? And there's nothing here that's putting Bucky in danger. So Jake Lockley gives it a try: talking to the Winter Soldier. And strangely enough it works.

I don't know, this is sort of an experiment. I read New Game+ and was inspired to try my own hand at writing a gamer/reincarnation life-is-a-simulation type of story. And in the MCU because why not jump in to a new fandom while I'm at it too?

Danny's world falls apart when the Guys in White show up on his doorstep and blow his identity to his parents. On the run from the government, the Fentons, and an insane billionaire, he runs to the last person he can think of: His twin, separated at birth and adopted out to different families.
When a boy claiming to be Tim's long-lost twin shows up at his doorstep, he knows he should be cautious. But it's not like Tim didn't know he had one out there, and since Batman has forbidden him from working on the Red Hood case, he has a lot of free time. Plenty of time to unravel the mysteries of the boy from Amity Park.

Quite a fun ride. The misunderstandings is more in line with mistaken identity. And the ending isn't really all that ambiguous. More like the cut at the end of Inception before the top falls. You see the wobble- you can connect the dots, it's just not shown explicitly. And either way it doesn't matter.
