I wanted to write more about angels and demons because it's my obsession, it's gonna be a series of different stories within the same universe that may or may not overlap because I'm too scatterbrained to write a cohesive narrative.

A demon is trusted to preen the wings of a child angel.
The main function of preening behavior is to waterproof the feathers by distributing preen oil from the uropygial gland at the base of the tail to the feathers.
While preening, birds squeeze the sebaceous secretion from the gland and transfer it across the entire body (Jacob & Ziswiler, 1982).
Angels need to preen their wings in order to keep them neat and healthy, but it is hard to preen one's own wings so it's traditional for one's close friends, family, or partner to do it. It's usually a relaxing and comforting process.
