In a sense, forgoing shaving consistently altogether is a logical progression. The toughest case of all just took a wrecking ball to everything Phoenix built for three years. Where there was once no time to spend on keeping the clean, professional look, now there is simply no reason.
What does not make logical sense is the way staring at Phoenix’s prickly jaw scrambles Miles’s insides. The joints in his fingers tingle and there’s molten lava sinking from the pit of his stomach to his ankles.
Such a strong reaction surely means Miles has an opinion on this change. He is full of opinions and they are often better off being kept inside his head until he gets behind the prosecutor’s bench. Snarky comments are easier to generate than greetings more often than not.
Not a single jeer comes to mind. Miles’s tongue darts out to wet his lips.

Just as in Turnabout Memories Dahlia finds Phoenix in the court house library and still wants to pass the poison necklace on to him however since Phoenix's heart is already spoken for he doesn't so easily fall for her flirting and she needs to get a little more creative to get him to take it convincing Phoenix that it will make his crush take notice of him. Although their little plan soon goes off the rails the series of events that follow does put Miles on a journey to think a little closer about how exactly he feels about his relationship with his best friend.

The bookstore at the corner of 14th and Fen is known for many things. It’s known, firstly, for the books, which makes a certain amount of sense for a bookstore, if you think about it. The place is positively crammed with books, from floor to ceiling, filling shelves and sitting in neat piles in all the nooks and crannies. Books, books, books: books so old they’re practically falling apart, with dog-eared pages and notes scribbled in the margins, and books that are brand new, the covers shiny, the paper white, and the spines barely creased. There are so many books filling the shelves of the Corner Bookstore that the entire place smells of paper and ink, of stories, the way a bookstore should.
This is a story about an introverted bookstore owner meeting the artist who works at the flower shop across the street (and his magician daughter). This is a story about books, plants, awkward conversations and quiet friendships, a story about a stray cat, finding your people, and slowly, slowly, falling in love.
