Summary
Young adventurer Midoriya Izuku has just accepted his first quest: to capture an outlaw known as the Ghost Wolf and bring him to justice. With the help of his new companions, he searches through the Nagurin mountains for days, but there's no trace of that dangerous criminal.
Just when they're starting to lose hope, they come across a pair of locals who offer them hospitality - one enthusiastically, the other not so much. Katsuki and Eijiro are an unusual couple in more than one way, and they seem to have their fair share of secrets. Maybe this chance encounter will be the key to find the Ghost Wolf. And maybe, just maybe, it will change Izuku's life for good.
Update (28/5/26): I'm still alive! I'm happy to announce that I've finally finished the first draft of the next chapter, and it looks like it's going to be one of the longest in this fic so far. After this ordeal, writing the second draft and editing *should* go relatively smoothly, but at this point I know better than to make any promises. Still, I hope to have the chapter ready soon :)

Summary
"Go to the cabin at the end of the path and enter the basement. The future of the entire world is in your hands." That's what the note Katsuki finds in his pocket says. Lost in an endless forest with nothing better to do, he begrudgingly accepts the mission.
To his surprise, inside he finds Deku chained to the wall. Because he's not a complete asshole, he sets out to rescue him. However, it soon becomes apparent to him that this is not the Deku he knows. Fearing that he's been baited into a trap, Katsuki tries to leave the cabin, only to realize he's been locked up in there.
Will he be able to get out on his own? Will he be forced to trust and rely on someone he's always looked down on? Or will he fall prey to his own flaws and fears?
This is a love story.

Ochako sighs. “Go grab a bottle of wine for dinner, please.”
“Don’t tell me what to do,” Katsuki grumbles, as he makes his way to the wine rack he knows Izuku keeps in the store room.
Kousuke, since Katsuki had gone to check on the goings-on in the kitchen, had resorted to setting up block towers to knock them down in the most violent way he’d seen any preschooler handle solid wood.
“Die!” Kousuke screeches, giggling as his flared hand smacks straight through the centre of a large wall he’d built, scattering blocks across the vinyl flooring. Katsuki raises a fist in solidarity and nods at a beaming Kousuke as he slides past.
“Gentle, honey,” Ochako calls tiredly over the thundering of strained noodle water.
“Don’t tell me what to do,” Kousuke singsongs under his breath, gingerly picking up his fallen blocks and kissing each piece tenderly as he meticulously reconstructs his barricade.
Katsuki’s genuinely surprised Izuku hasn’t strung him up by the testicles yet.
“Oh! Kacchan!”
Huh. Speak of the devil.

Izuku flinches. “I made everyone worry again, didn’t I?” He sounds exhausted, self-deprecatingly curling in on himself.
Katsuki sighs. “Everyone cares about you, a lot, okay? Don’t— don’t treat it as something that burdens them.”
He knows, because he’s had to break down the hardness and walls around him, to realize that others weren’t looking down on him, but rather, looking out for him.
Izuku’s shoulders slump at his words, as if it was all he needed to hear, and he turns towards Katsuki, and says, “I had a bad dream.”

“He told me he loves me.” Katsuki blinks hard, his vision swimming a bit. He’s good with his drink, it’s weird that he feels so woozy quickly. His damaged heart kicks painfully and he takes a stab at why he might be feeling so tired so soon. He’s rarely ever wrong.
“I don’t know what you want me to say.” He mumbles, watching Uraraka scrub her eyes as delicately as she can, bordering on tipsy but fully aware of the swanky ballroom filled to the loggias with some of the world’s most prominent role models and public figures.
“That’s what he said. So why…” Her voice wavers, cracking just at the edges. “Katsuki, why doesn’t he want me?”
Katsuki doesn’t know what to say to that either.
