All potions come with a warning. A warning that was taught to Potions Masters only and seemed to be lost over time as less and less Potions Masters seem to remember them. For example, in an ancient book about different versions of Polyjuice Potion, there are numerous side effects and warnings until on the last page, there is one without any.
The one that is usually taught.
Not the one that Hermione found in their second year.
And not the one they actually try.
Had Hermione found the ancient book with the warnings, she wouldn’t have brewed it. But as fate likes to play with the Golden Trio, she didn’t. Otherwise she would have read the following words above the potions.
Not to hide thy visage but showeth thy true one.
And now Harry, Hermione and Ron have to come to terms with what has been done to them. They will find new friends, allies and enemies.

I love a Dudley redemption fic plus his fiancé Claire is a sweetheart and a Doctor and Dudley is a teacher who vowed to never let another kid suffer from abuse like Harry did if he can help it and then finds a letter for a deposit box that needs both Petunia and Harry to open so finally has a reason to reach out to Harry and apologise!
