Summary
Pico has been having a relatively good time as of late.
His job is steady, his ex is back in his life again- which maybe shouldn't be a positive, but it's nice to have him back, even as a friend-, and said ex's girlfriend is actually not as bad as he thought a literal demon would be.
For once, everything seems to be looking up! Now, if only they could stop throwing themselves into danger.

Summary
Newly ten years old, Jia Baoyu already knows that there’s very little he can do to change the world around him. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t wish things were different though. So when a venture with his Grandmother takes him into the fallen La Manchaland, Jia Baoyu decides to try and help someone, one last time.
Don Quixote of La Manchaland has spent the last two hundred years dwelling on all his failures, and has come to the only logical conclusion: That his nature as a bloodfiend prevents any manner of change, and that his dream had been nothing but a fantasy. With his family dead, he has resigned himself to the same fate; only to end up living with a small human child who still has a dream of his own.
Maybe they can both learn something from each other.
(Or: Jia Baoyu dreams, Jia Mu schemes, and Don Quixote relearns what it means to try.)

Summary
Having multiple soulmates was something romanticized in stories, but absolutely loathed in practice. Made all the more complicated by the people experiencing it. Every bond was intermingled, looped and knotted up in others. It made the connections murky, the limits hard to grasp. Unfairly proportioned, a gift to some, a curse to others.

“I just..” he motions up at the MechaMan suit. “I purposely stayed away. Tried to hide away from the bond. I felt like knowing me would only put them in danger. Heroes don't live safe lives. What if one of my enemies went for them because of me?”
