Summary
It took a few months but Stede and his rescued crewmates finally have a new ship and catch up to a spiralling Blackbeard...just in time for both ships to be blown apart by the pursuing British.
In the aftermath, Stede and Izzy end up on a barren island with no hope of rescue, convinced that Edward died in the attack. They fight things out, drink things out, Izzy has an interesting reaction to a red hot knife and somewhere along the way, they find something to love in each other.
Post-S1, influenced by teasers/trailers. Only saw the new season from chapter 4 onwards, inclusive. Beware minor spoilers that might creep in, unintentionally.

He had tried to pretend, for a time, that not everything has to change just because the Gentleman Fucking Pirates has once again defied the odds - both by rising from the dead and by not dying more permanently on his way to Edward. But Izzy knows as well as anyone that Bonnet is fate’s exception. And Edward’s too, for that matter, rules be damned when the twat is in proximity. So, after the fourteenth time Izzy walks in on a silk-clad conversation about feelings, he decides to pack his bags. He hears that Vane is recruiting. Perhaps he could even get in with Low.
Four days later, he changes his mind.
Or, Izzy Hands learns the difference between being needed and being wanted.
