Summary
Emily drew her attention back to her phone, back to her thumb that was an inch away from pressing call.
I mean, it wouldn't hurt, right? Andrea probably won't even answer. And if she did, Emily would give her the lecture of a lifetime. She'll scold her for leaving, she'll tell her what a complete idiot she was, she'll beg her to come back and- Never mind that last bit, let's come back to what was really important.
She ducked her head and pressed call. This could go one or two ways. One was obviously being left to voicemail. The other was whatever torturous fantasy Emily was dreaming up in her mind.
One second turned into five, then it turned into eight. Andrea will definitely not reply now. She put the phone down on the table, until she heard the line click,
“Hello?”
or…
Emily found herself drunk at a bar. After what seems to be a few shots of whiskey, she is now suddenly just outside Andrea's apartment with no plan, at least, no sensible plan. Armed with only a stubborn head and a longing heart.

Summary
Andrea and Emily had spent twenty years apart after Andrea left Runway. They both changed but now that they found each other, old feelings ressurface. The problem is, Andrea has now a boyfriend and she is very happy with him (or at least she conviced herself that she is). And Emily can't possibly fall in love with her new friend, she woudn't bear the heartbreak of losing Andy after being rejected.
Or, after the end of DWP 2, Emily and Andrea finally act on their feelings for the other. It just takes them a little time to get there.

Summary
Perhaps the most heartbreaking consequence of this promise to erase Andrea is that the expensive clothes are wasted. Stuffed to the back of her closet, because she is unable to look at them. (In her weaker moments, she puts the clothes on and imagines they still smell like Andy. Even though she knows it is a lie.) All she can hear when she catches a glimpse of them gathering dust is the dial tone ringing and ringing and nobody picking up.
