I listened to A Christmas Inheritance. I finished A Christmas Inheritance. I wrote this fic. Those who have listened to A Christmas Inheritance know why. A little half fix-it for Ned and Sidney so I can sleep at night.

I was sure GrayCris had a number of contingencies to get themselves out of the mess I had made for them on Milu. Admittedly them turning Dr. Mensah into a vampiric human had not crossed my mind.

You never get a chance to make a second first impression (unless you're a construct) by Raven_hoodoo

Summary
Soulmarks typically presented twice in one's life. Once when you're born, a gift from the universe to help you find your other. Once when that person dies, a curse from the universe, to remind you what you'd lost.
The universe finds constructs weird and confusing and what constitutes death for them even more so. It's not the only one.

Positive Representation, Complex Emotions, and a Fictional but Semi-Heroic SecUnit in Media by BlatantBookworm
Fandoms: The Murderbot Diaries - Martha Wells

Summary
I don’t normally pay that much attention to the credits. In general, I tend to care more about the fictional characters than the real humans playing them, but this had caught my attention.
I mean, it wasn't the first serial that ever put in a SecUnit as a villain instead of a prop. RihaniLane Street had actually made their SecUnit villain sympathetic before it tried to kill everyone. And obviously this fictional SecUnit was going to be a villain, too, because they always were, but that scene was —
The credits said ‘Made and Produced in GoodNightLander Independent.’
Oh.-
Or, Murderbot has feelings about finding positive representation.
Mostly positive.
Even when humans try, they get SecUnits wrong in media.
(Not the murder, the murders were justified, but the writers made the fictional SecUnit like cubicles)
(It’s still pretty positive.)Series

Maintenance Manual for SecUnits models 36b-27f by Wordlet
Fandoms: The Murderbot Diaries - Martha Wells

Summary
When Mensah receives the maintenance manual for the person she just bought she discards it on instinct. It's not until later, while trying to navigate the needs of a person she has limited context for, that the supplementary reading becomes useful. It's not instructions the way they are supposed to be but it does provide... guidance.

Summary
We'll be staying for four additional standard hours, I tell Iris. Security assessment and strategizing.
The shuttle is already scheduled to pick us up at the projected time, ART-Drone pipes up in what's supposed to be a private channel. It's radiating nonchalance. Perihelion is aware.
Iris turns to look at it, and one of my indoors drones catches the way she arches an eyebrow.
ART-Drone radiates harder.

Summary
I may be a vast and immensely powerful MI, but even so (or perhaps, and especially so) I am not immune to finding artifacts in my functionality reports. Sometimes, something fails to get the grain of processing power it needs to complete the query in time and generates a jumble of recursive nonsense code as it stutters in place. I don't spare it another thought as I dismiss the error message and forward the report as reference for cleanup. It'll all be gone by the next cycle.
