Summary
Kara opens the latch on the window but takes a moment to look back at a lazily stretching Lena Luthor tangled in her purple sheets, looking too much like a morning after than an innocent sleepover amongst friends. Lena quite deliberately pulls her bottom lip between her teeth as she smiles at the unmoving hero a few feet away. Kara’s mouth goes dry, her head light and fuzzy.

Lena brings a bottle of water to her lips, stalling. An unwise decision because it gives Kara the opportunity to answer, blue eyes bright with a smile to match.
“Five years.”
Lena inhales sharply, allowing a mouthful of water to be sucked down her windpipe. She coughs, so violently she’s certain she’ll hack up a lung. Kara rubs the space between her shoulder blades tenderly, asking if she’s alright but Lena can’t form a coherent thought much less a sentence.

“Lena,” Kara says so softly but Lena can’t turn around, can’t be met with those intense blue eyes, with the specks of gold fibres caught in them lest she crumble like a house of cards.
“Don’t leave,” the blonde insists, still standing so very close but leaving a respectful gap. “I’m sorry if I upset you with the dancing. I’ll turn the music off and we’ll just go back to cooking dinner. Lena, please. Stay.”

Kara’s eyebrows shoot up to her hairline. “Really?”
“Well try not to sound so shocked Ms. Danvers.”
“Actually it’s Zor-El,” Kara says and suddenly her back is straighter, she’s carrying herself with an almost regal air that’s not quite Supergirl and definitely not the clumsy reporter. Lena almost pouts when Kara jumps to her feet and extends a hand to her. “Kara Zor-El of Krypton.”
Lena smiles, stands with one crutch tucked under her armpit and allows a warm and powerful hand to engulf hers with a tenderness she didn’t know possible. “Lena Luthor of Earth.”
“It’s nice to meet you,” Kara grins.
Lena rolls her eyes but dammit she’s grinning too. “Dork.”

Summary
Kara’s eyes widen as she watches Lena chant something else and the yellow ochre aura grows, mirrored in the thin ring that rims Lena’s irises.
Neither of them move. They can only stare in awe and slight disbelief at the light pulsing in Lena’s steadied palm. The physical manifestation of her magic, so stable and powerful and tangible leaves Lena stunned. She laughs, a little breathless and still a bit shocked but she’s happy too.
“See?” Kara whispers directly into Lena’s ear. “It’s always been inside you.”
OR
Kara is struggling with being back. Lena is struggling to make sense of her new gift. Turns out they are the answer to each other’s problems.

Summary
Just the idea of Lena kissing her, is a lot and she’s shocked at how much she wants her to do just that. It makes sense, in this moment, casting spells and making unions. It could be another way in which they could truly connect their bodies and oh, Rao, this is new. Is this new? Kara’s not sure she knows anymore.
Maybe it’s the magic, the connection of the spell, binding them as one in some way Kara can’t comprehend, nor understand, or maybe it’s something that’s always been there? A longing, dormant in the back of her mind, waiting for a spark to awaken it. Her heart, her feelings. Lena.
“To us,” Kara says, knocking the entire drink back and trying to pull herself together.
