Summary
Not everything left in the past stays there. Tord's return marks the beginning of everyone's descent into despair. Every new location introduces new dangers, but the old ones are hard to shake. Everyone is doing their best to maintain who they thought they were, no matter how much that causes them to lose themselves. There is always a price to pay, especially for those who can't afford it. As soon as the light of hope shines, it is snuffed out by unforeseen complications. How far will they go to hold on to each other? What will they let go of to hold on to themselves? Will they find peace in this chaotically horrendous world, or will they succumb to the person they never wanted to be? Survival is never a clear line. There are detours and setbacks in the best-case scenario. What will happen when they find themselves in the worst?

Summary
His fright at the thought that Coco might have been in danger when he woke up was heart-stopping. The feeling he had when he thought he’d forgotten one of the simplest spells in his collection was….something else. Like a vice around his throat. A garotte of terror.
Olruggio can't claim to be the picture of perfect health and wellbeing, but things are getting strange. He's forgetting stuff - stuff that he really shouldn't be forgetting. And he doesn't know why.

The thought leaves him with a hiss, not through mouth but through skin, the high-pitched screech of boiling water meeting flesh, followed by his own wail as his arm erupts in pain.
