    1996: Forks, Washington is the kind of town that eats misfits like Charlie Swan and his best friend Billy Black alive. To escape yet another dull weekend in the rainy town, the pair hitch a ride from a group of college students to a rock show in Port Angeles.

    It's here in the dim light of a dive bar that Charlie bumps shoulders with the impossibly gorgeous basketball player Carlisle Cullen. With his charming smile and letterman jacket, he seems like the last person to be seen in a place like this. Their chance encounter soon leads to a summer fling the two will never forget.
