“You need an anchor,” Derek tells him when Stiles lies on his back, panting, naked, on the forest floor.
Stiles snorts. Pain and starvation are the only two things that have worked at all, but neither keeps him human for long. “No shit, asshole.” Not like he’s tried to find something to hold onto his humanity every time he’s managed to drag himself back into human form. Stiles sucks in a breath and braces when he feels himself slipping.
Then Derek digs his claws into his thigh. Stiles screams murder but Derek ignores him. “Pain,” he says as he hovers over Stiles while kneeling beside him, “isn’t the best anchor, but at least it is one.”Or the one where Derek turns Stiles to save his life, and they leave Beacon hills to figure it all out, but they're shit at communicating.

It’s the fox, though it doesn’t look like a fox. It’s hard to tell in the ever-present darkness, but it’s a tall man with long hair, piercing yellow eyes, and a pair of ears sticking out of his head. A long fluffy tail sways from side to side when the spirit locks the door behind himself, successfully trapping them both inside.
Just fucking perfect.
“It’s also rude to set kids on fire.” he points out, even if he’s on the fox’s side with this one. The brat deserved it.xxx
Or, Grimmjow is an Onmyoji who suddenly faces the most mischievous spirit he can think of. It's even worse when he finds out the fox is his long-deceased friend.

There was a brief pause before Chris spoke again, his voice a little softer now, almost shy. “Buck… are you okay?”
The question caught Buck off guard. For a second, he hesitated, unsure how to answer without worrying Chris. His eyes squeezed shut as another wave of pain hit him, but he forced a smile into his voice.
“I’m… I’m fine, buddy. Just doing my job. But it makes me feel better knowing you’re safe with your dad.”
Chris, being perceptive like always, wasn’t entirely convinced. “Are you sure? You sound tired, Buck.”
Buck swallowed hard, his throat burning, but he couldn’t let Chris worry. Not now. “I am tired, but that’s ‘cause I’ve been working hard, you know? Gotta make sure everything here is safe.”
There was a beat of silence before Chris’s voice came through, soft but sure. “You’re gonna come home, right?“
The question hit Buck harder than he expected. His vision blurred slightly, his chest tightening for reasons other than the gas exposure. He took a shaky breath, forcing the words through the pain. “Yeah, Chris. I’m gonna come home. I promise.”
Or the one where Buck falls 99 times but Eddie and Chris give him a reason to stand 100 times more
