Summary

Hermione blinked. Her cheeks flared red. “Pardon?”
He tilted his head, eyes still locked on hers. “Not interested?”
“I… don’t know what you’re getting at.”
He sighed, almost disappointed. “Brightest witch of the age.”
Her throat tightened. “Are you… hitting on me?”
The moment she said it, she regretted it. He leaned in even further, close enough that she could see the faint sheen on his lower lip, the way his eyelashes were dark at the tips. Then, he spoke softly—devastatingly so. “What do you think I’m doing?”

“I don’t give a shit what you think.” Leon holstered his gun–it had become obvious he wasn’t going to use it, despite the fact that he was practically blistering with rage and hurt. His fingers wrapped around the hilt of his knife instead… not the combat knife on his chest that Marvin had given him all those years ago, but the one at his waist that he hardly ever drew. The one from Krauser. “Get the fuck out of my face, Redfield. Or I’ll make you.”
“You’ll make me?” Chris repeated, incredulous. Asshole. He eyed the hand Leon had on his knife, features contorting. He looked a little older, a bit more rough around the edges, but still achingly familiar and aggravatingly gorgeous. “Go ahead. Because as pissed off as you are, I don’t think you will.”
